Practice Healthy Habits, Assist Your Local Food Pantry
Ready or not here it comes! The holiday season is right around the corner. Thanksgiving is less than a month away, which means we will soon be in full holiday mode. You know what that means? It is time for the WCA Group Health Trust (GHT) Healthy Holiday Challenge. The challenge will take place from December 3-30, 2017.
The challenge offers GHT members the opportunity to practice some healthy living habits while also assisting their local food pantry. Members will earn points for following the USDA recommendations of eating 2 ½ cups of vegetables and 2 cups of fruit daily, while also doing 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity each day. Participants that follow the guidelines and report their points (via this website) will be eligible to award their local food pantry a donation from the GHT.
You must be a GHT policyholder to participate.
Participants can register by clicking here.
How the Contest will Work
Each participant can earn up to three points per day. One point for consuming 2 ½ cups of vegetables, one point for consuming 2 cups of fruit and an additional point for 30 continuous minutes of moderate to vigorous activity. The maximum number of points any participant can earn in one day is 3 and the maximum points for one week are 21. There is not a team competition during this challenge; but the more participants from each area the greater the chances of helping your local food pantry. For that reason, encourage your co-workers to get involved! Registered participants will receive more information closer to the start date.
