GHT, Marathon County & North Central Health Care Partner for Better Employee Health
With employee health and wellness as a top priority, the WCA Group Health Trust has partnered with Marathon County and North Central Health Care (NCHC) to open a new onsite clinic for county employees.
The Marathon County Employee Health and Wellness Center is located near the County Health Department on the North Central Health Care Center campus. The center is staffed by Aspirus medical professionals and is open 40 hours per week, including some evening hours.
It is the goal of the new clinic to encourage preventative healthcare services and engage in the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Services available to Marathon County Employees, free of charge to those on the WCA Group Health Trust, and generally on a same-day basis, include:
- Treatment of common health conditions (e.g., colds, influenza, ear aches, bug bites, minor wounds, infections)
- Annual physicals
- Chronic condition support
- Health monitoring
- Lab services (e.g., strep tests, flu screening, pregnancy tests)
- Wellness care (e.g., screening, fitness assessment, education, goal setting, wellness advice)
The WCA Group Health Trust provided the early leadership in forming the onsite clinic.
Aspirus medical staff will be paid by WCA Group Health Trust and NCHC for their time and materials.
"Marathon County has had tremendous success in containing the cost of employee health care," said Marathon County Administrator Brad Karger. "We credit WCA-GHT, our Wellness Committee, and Health Coach Asia Bay for a very active and effective wellness program at the County."
