Wellness Programs
The WCA Group Health Trust will assist counties, other local units of government and school districts in promoting wellness programs and provide information promoting healthy lifestyles.
The WCA Group Health Trust (GHT) is pleased to announce a wellness benefit which provides an opportunity for employees and their family members to participate in wellness efforts. The GHT wellness initiative has two parts, including both support materials and grants for participating members.
As a member of the WCA Group Health Trust, you can also access a comprehensive wellness center on this website. To login to view videos and utilize other timely resources, you must have a username and password. Your username is your first and last name and year of birth. There are no spaces and it is all lowercase. i.e. janedoe1969. Your password is the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you continue to have trouble, contact Josh Bindl at bindl@wicounties.org.
Wellness Information Packet
The first is a Wellness Information Packet intended to provide healthy living information to employees and their family members. The packet consists of a DVD with wellness modules ranging from annual exams to high blood pressure and cholesterol to prescription drugs. Each year there will be additional modules produced and added to this web site.
The packet also includes a “Self-Care Guide” to equip employees and their families with common health-related information. The Wellness Information Packet is provided to the households of all GHT participants.
Wellness Grants
The second part of the wellness initiative is an opportunity for members of the GHT to receive financial assistance for wellness programs desired within their group. The GHT Board of Directors has allocated funds to assist groups in developing new wellness efforts or in expanding current wellness efforts.
Groups wishing to receive funds for wellness efforts need only to submit a request specifying the wellness initiative, a budget, a pledge that the funds will not supplant any current funds, and agree to keep the Trust apprised of the results and outcomes of the effort so other Trust members may benefit from the experience. These requests should be submitted to Kim Hurtz of Aegis Corporation.
Through the allocation of money for wellness efforts, it is our hope to increase the overall health of the individuals in your group and prevent unnecessary health insurance claims before they occur. Working together, we can help hold the line on premium and encourage a healthier, more productive workforce.
This is one of many efforts which make your Group Health Trust a superior choice when it comes to the health care of our valued employees and one of the innovative approaches which make us all proud to be members of the Group Health Trust.
